Why a normal lease does not work here

A standard Korean lease runs one to two years with a deposit of ten to twenty times the monthly rent, signed in Korean, often needing a Korean guarantor. Furnished monthly homes are a separate category that starts at one month — and that is what we book, in English, without a Korean phone number or residence card.
